Its gonna be a nice day...

Love that movie. I was working at a shop that restored special Fords shortly after it came out.

Many don't know it, but slightly more than half of the 427 Cobras actually came with 428s. When you're talking 2280 lbs, doesn't make much difference between 370 or 425 HP - you'll still light the tires in all four gears. Since both engines are FE blocks, its hard to tell the difference, even on close inspection. The 427 had screwed-in core plugs on the block and cross-bolted main bearing caps (the FE block extended down to the bottom of the crank).

In fact, one way to tell a high-performance Ford engine (hi-po 289, Boss 302, 427, Boss 429) from a poser is the core plugs. If they're brass press-ins, its not a hi-po.

My favorite line is 'Whatsa behind me, is not important!'

Indeed Bill, Ford couldn`t beat the Ferraris at Le Mans with small blocks either, they had to slot in that big strong brutal NASCAR 427 to do the job.
Maybe you should add that fave quote quip/youtube clip to the mirror thread running currently.
