Thanks all. Is the best way to use these products instead off a gasket…..or to seal a gasket with tears, etc therefore keeping the gasket in place and using this in the problematic areas?

I have never not used a gasket . Norton UK advised to go to Judd Racing for parts.

So started with the advice on here and picked up quick/easy jobs first.....

Slave cylinder off and checked ball-bearing for grease. Looked ok but put a smear on prior to re-fitting.....

Is this normal - advice please

Next was the sprocket nut - it looked ok. The locking washer has moved a bit, but seems locked in place. I don't have a socket big enough so a visual check will do for now. thoughts?

Is this normal - advice please

Also took the opportunity to clean the crud out from behind the cover...weight saving!

Next is to get the primary cover off (tomorrow) and then visually inspect the clutch & replace plates/springs over the weekend

Last thought - I had spacers on the sprocket cover (as expected) but did NOT have washers on the slave bolts.....is this an issue?

I don't think they used washers on the brembo clutch cylinder/. You can be sure to bend the front sprocket tab down into the sprocket hole to help hold it.

That locking washing is currently just for decoration chap.
Remove the ball bearing from the slave piston cap, and grease where the ball bearing sits, then refit ball bearing. Remove the two pushrods and two other ball bearings (you'll need a magnet, or poke them all the way through if removing the clutch pack), keep the rods in the correct order ie 7mm diameter rod to slave, 8mm rod to actuator bearing clutch pack end, clean and grease.
No washers needed on slave or cover.
Sprocket nut is 122nm, blue thread lock and reverse thread.

Fair point - thank you. When you zoom in it's obvious.

Are those locking washer's readily available?

If you haven’t packed my gaskets up….could you throw one in please? I’ll WhatsApp you for payment, etc

Ok - so here's the latest -

Sprocket washer was received this week. Just waiting on a big socket and then I'll tackle that job.

The clutch is out and new one is here. Will do that over the next few days.

Here's a few pics from today....and 1 question for the group!

So here's the question - the inner basket is solid. Spins freely with no play. Happy! The outer basket, however, has very slight play when wiggled. Like maybe 0.5mm or so. Is that normal?

Good pictures , I would say the basket is ok to take your trip for now . Did you check the rear starter ring gear for and play also ? Ask Stu Bodycote what he thinks , but should be no play ideally . But OK to use for the meantime . You should ask Stu , but I think he can service the clutch basket for you and make it good to go .

Thank you. I have a far more urgent issue now.....

As you can see in the pics, some of the stand offs that connect to the hub came away when undoing the springs. I split them from the bolts and tried to reinstall them this morning. One went in fine but the other two weren't going in straight with finger force. I then looked at the threads on the stand offs and they're not great with at least 1mm of thread marred up. Question is, if I mange to source new stand offs will they also go funky due to wonky threads in the hub? I don't have the tools to re-tap the hub threads...and I'm not sure I want to TBH.

Thoughts? I think I need a new hub? Are they easily found? Do they share a part with another supplier?

Thanks in advance

Here's what the thread looks like.....they're buggered. This is how they came out the bike and definitely can't be re-used.....

Kev, that happed to mine as well. The threaded section maybe threaded into the stand-off ( it was on mine) so you may be able to remove and replace it. You can get standoffs from EBay. Stu or Ollie Thiel may be able to sell you a new centre, but yours is definitely repairable.

Thank you - yeh I was chatting to Stu this morning on whatsapp and it's fixable......picking up a tap/die set later then I'll crack on. Apparently, the thread that pokes through the hub is peened over hence the "damage" I'm seeing. Cleaning up the threads and re-fitting is the experts advice...so I'm giving that a go

If I take mine off again I’ll get high tensile M6 countersunk screws, remove the threads from the hub and standoff’s, and screw through the hub into the standoff’s.

I've got the hub nut off but the hub itself isn't moving away. Is that normal? If so, I assume I need a puller??

It should come off but you may have threadlocker in the splines . Your clutch basket is essentially being sandwiched together by those 4 rivets , and why you check your basket play/looseness . At some point in the future I would remove the entire basket and get the Stu Bodycote clutch basket service. He can weld the rivets , or replace them with special bolts and even replace your cush drive springs.

Yes, the hub on mine was difficult to get off. I used a plate puller, with bolts screwed into two of the standoff’s. If you do manage to get it off, you will see there are three sets of three holes around the outside. Stu enlarges them by around 1mm I think, to improve oil flow to the clutch plates.
