Is this anyones?

Great minds think alike Ralph.
Or...
Fools seldom differ.

Take your pick!

Anyway, you got mail matey, check yer in box...

Ha, fools probably. I don't know why it reminds me of the Dunstall fairings, I have just looked up the Kettle setup and it is nothing like. Still not keen though. Each to their own.

Friend of mine is on holiday in Ilfracombe, by chance she was in this bar, by chance, she posted it on FB, by chance I read it and scrolled down, by chance I noticed the following pic, by chance am now wondering if the circle can be completed by someone claiming ownership! Quite a lot of chances needed to line up to bring you this post. :)

Quite like the fairing btw - Norton not scooter!

Is this anyones?
yep its mine
glad you like it mark

The bike was brought brand new with the intention of doing this to it.
The bike is a one off and took me and my mate three months and a lot of beer to build.
The whole design came out of my head from a childhood memory and was built from the heart.
No research was carried out and it just developed to what you see now.
The fairing was made by me and has copper pipe glassed into the edges to give the soft curved effect.
My mate Lee milled all the brackets in aircraft grade alloy.
The whole fairing can be removed by unscrewing 4 screws.
I really do appreciate the interest you have shown so many thanks

Nicely done, Mark. Kind of a modern take on the old Dunstall and Production Racer looks.

Ken

The original Norton PR or replicas of had the fairing mounted to a brace that clamped to the steering neck. This then came out through where your headlamp shell is now between the fork tubes . Your headlamp shell will move up into the fairing nose. There were then two more brackets at the front gas tank mounts to stabilize the side wings. A very similar setup can be used on the 961 , I would think.

Aha! I knew one of you fine gentlemen would hunt this baby down! Mr iwilson you are a star; subcontracting to a hard drinking female undercover operative? # inspired!

Hold your horses Eddie, it may just be the ‘angle of the dangle’. I agree from this image it looks somewhat oversized and bulbous. It may just be the camera angle. More pictures required please iwilson and the detail of who manufactured/fitted it.

PS, cheque’s in the post for The lady of Ilfracombe.

Looks promising

Steve
i did:)

Sorry guys, I know I’m swimming up stream with y’all on this. But I don’t like that fairing on that bike at all.

Compared to the fairing, the pipes actually look good!

But I notice the subtle JPS logos, they’re on the faring too. Kickstart motorcycles in Wales sell mildly customised “limited runs” of such JPS badged bikes. My money is on this fairing having been fitted by them. Certainly worth an enquiry.
no it wasnt;)

close but not quite:)

Good Job to you either way .. I wanted to ask you how you like your 961 ? And do you plan on keeping it ? Also , how many miles on it so far ? Is the CR riding position the only option with that fairing ?

Hello Again Mark , I think Norton Motorcycles would be interested in your fairing . Seriously , They may take a fancy to it and make kits based on it . Have you showed it to Norton yet ? I think they would really like it !

The lads in the factory wondered that too however the powers that be wasn't interested at all
However i think triumph must have covertly took pictures:rolleyes: when i wasn't looking as the new Triumph Truxton TFC is very similar (of which i have one:D)

Hi Mark, I started the hunt for you, so welcome to the forum. Hope you find some useful info and good conversation here. Great to hear the story behind the fairing, clearly a labour of love. Be great to see a few more photos, I think the two posted here both look quite different from each other.

thanks for the welcome
the pics don,t do it justice as they make the fairing look bulky as they dont show the full lines.
i will try and download better ones:)

Hi Mark,

Great that we found you. Was really surprised to read that you had fasioned the fairing yourself. Awesome. Wish I had those skills and I would do the same.

The opening picture of you parked rear against the curb shows the lines of the fairing/bike best. Looks perfectly in proportion there.

Steve
