My eyes are not what they used to be and I was wondering if there is any way in the user control panel to reverse the text to black on white? I couldn't see a way to do it but I may have missed it. Please do not take this as a complaint - this is the best Norton site on the web. But if it's possible to do that I wouldn't have to hunt up my glasses!

I third this motion!
We are old guys, well speak for myself, always have to use my glasses and get close to read to forum!

I have the same problem with seeing small text. There is a font button upper right corner but it only changes it 3 sizes.

What I do is hold down the ctrl key and use the wheel on the mouse make the text any size I want.

If you want to increase the text size in your browser, hit Ctrl + (control and plus sign) several times. To reduce text, hit Ctrl - (control and minus sign). To reset to normal, hit Ctrl 0 (control and zero)

I was just hoping there was an easy way to reverse the website color of the text in messages on my display using the user control panel. Enlarging the text is ok but it gets blurry because the resolution of the text doesn't really support being enlarged much. I notice that sometimes when posters quote a previous message it is displayed in black on white (on my computer, anyway) and it is easy to read without my glasses or any enlargement. I don't need glasses to read normally on the computer so I have usually misplaced them! :)

The text should not get blurry unless you are doing something wrong. Even if you increase the text 1000% it will still be clear.

Don't know how you can expand the text "wrong." Typical resolution for text/images on the web is 72 DPI. If you expand it much at all, it will pixellate. Never seen any text or image on the internet that could be expanded 1000% and still be recognizable. But perhaps I just lack processing power; my computer is nearly 3 years old so it's hopelessly out of date! :)

Do you remember being 3 or4 years oid in the bath tub and mum saying ''if you keep playing with it you will go blind"...... well :?:

I think we need to get Jerry involved, so I will PM him about this.

Hi Guys,

I would need to rebuild the website template to satisfy your needs. The color theme has been like this for 10 years . It is quite a bit of work for me and I dont have time to mess with the CSS and template now. I will certainly consider what you have said on the next site upgrade. As mentioned toggle the A above the "donate" button for larger text,

Regards--Jerry

Thanks Jerry, I can certainly appreciate the fact that it would be a big PITA. Frankly, I wasn't aware of the text enlargement at the "A" until this thread and that helps considerably.

Except the text is not resolution dependent, unless your browser is just zooming the page (which would be lame).

Make sure you are using a modern browser (Safari/Firefox/Chrome).

If you are using IE8 and have your Status bar enabled then there should be a "Change zoom level" control which will increase the size by up to 400% or even more, if you select the "Custom" option.

If you select everything (Ctrl-A with your cursor in the message area) you will get all the text highlighted with white background and blue type. The main black background will still be there tho.
