It may be of interest to some here that the Norton racing team never (at least from 1931 to 1953) raced "Manx" Nortons - only "Works" Nortons.
"Manx" was a sales term used to sell over-the-counter racers to privateers, etc
...at least that's what my Dad told me, and he was Joe Craig's youngest son, Reg.
