Will a 73-74 Stainless front fender fit on my 71 drum brake equipted bike.

I'd say yes...at most the supports might need altering or swapping out (they are removalable).
I'm about to swap my dinged/chipped chrome front for a nice stainless one I've scored for $20...has center mount and one support but I can use my originals if needed.

The '71 model year introduced the 4.10H-19 front tire, so required the wide fender, bridge, and stays. These were made in chrome plated steel for '71 and at least part of '72. The stainless '73-'75 fender is completely compatible with the '71 and it's fender bridge and stays. For use on a '68-'70 you must also use the '71-'75 bridge and stays.

Hey Ron, one would think one would use the '68-'70 bridge & stays with the '68-'70 fender. This is of concern to me as I am thinking about using the S pipes and earlier fender on my '74. If what you say is correct you will have saved me much frustration trying to figure that out on my own.
Thanks, Jim

Yes, the stays, bridge and fender are different for the 68-70 than the later models. Smaller to keep from fouling in the S pipes under hard braking. The rear fender is also different but the later ones will fit no problemo with a few adjustments to the mounting holes in some instances.
