Instrument glass replacement

Any suggestions on replacing the glass in my speedo? Appears as if a stone struck the outer edge of the ring and cracked the glass. Is this safety plate of some sort? Your help appreciated as always.

It is very thin crappy glass. Regular window glass is too thick. Buy a cheap picture frame - perfect thickness. Where you in upper Bucks? I'm off 611 on hill above Ferndale Inn.
