Can someone please post a pic or two of a 961 with the timing cover removed ?
I‘m curious to see what’s inside…

The fuelling was always good… WHEN it worked as intended. It was the reliability of it all, that was the issue. The entire system only being as good as the cheapest counterfeit link in the chain !According to reports fuelling on the TVS 961 is much improved. Stu is booked in for a test ride in April, so we'll know if that is true.
Well, I can go along with that, especially if we also fit a Drouin.I’ve mention before how, personally, if I still had a 961, I’d really like to junk the EFI and fit PROPER fuelling instruments, FCR carbs !
Well, I also got thinking, how cool would it be to junk all that ign and sensor related crap and fit a PROPER freakin’ ignition system…
The CNW guide to setting the timing chain tension has some good pics. I seem to remember reading that the tensioner had been 'improved' by TVS.Can someone please post a pic or two of a 961 with the timing cover removed ?

It would be flattering to think they copied my modification...The CNW guide to setting the timing chain tension has some good pics. I seem to remember reading that the tensioner had been 'improved' by TVS.
All the tensioner block needs is compression limiters fitting....we were saying that in Engine Build in 2016.
Maybe Birmingham Norton can supply the revised version of this ?They need to be shaped to fit the slotted m8 hole in the tensioner block to work....but that would sort the problem.
Hi Clive , I think the polymer block gets over compressed and may loosen over time ?Sorry - could you just describe the problem please - I remember when I checked the chain tension on mine it felt as though I could not tighten the lock bolts properly.....

The bolts tighten directly on the plastic in the recess of the upper tensioner block and have been known to come loose as the plastic relaxes. As Stu mentioned they really need steel compression limiters inserted. I chose a different approach and fixed an alloy plate to the block then used longer bolts to fix it in position.Sorry - could you just describe the problem please - I remember when I checked the chain tension on mine it felt as though I could not tighten the lock bolts properly.....
