inner clutch basket

Richard-7 and everyone else, wondering if the 2015 and on clutch still has a spacer between the inner clutch basket and the mainshaft bearing. I'm looking for reasons my clutch is so "juddery'
I took the clutch apart this morning and can't see anything wrong with the plates, but the inner clutch basket has a slight wobble to it when I rotate it by hand. I took off the inner basket and there's no spacer behind it, and I suspect that's letting it wobble?. Thanks, Mark.

Hello Mark , The drawings show no washer or shim or spacer behind the inner hub and between it and the outer clutch basket. There are spacers shown behind the outer basket though. Perhaps you could ask Norton (Kevin French) what play is expected in this part (clutch hub) and the splined main shaft. It does appear the inner hub is available separately as a spare part. After speaking to Richard-7 sometime ago he suggested trouble mostly with the outer basket and unfortunately with the main shaft itself . If at all possible measurements should be taken of those parts and emailed to Norton or Richard-7 ?
email Kevin French at Kevin French (kevin.french@nortonmotorcycles.com)

Probably not very helpful but just a few days ago put the bike in for a noise and less than ideal clutch engagement.

As per Richard-7s recommendation I requested for the clutch shaft to be measured and sent to Kevin. All good there.

But there was a lot of movement at the clutch basket rivets (they took the basket out and even with light pressure on a bench could see the movement) and so Norton has approved a new basket.

Hope this will fix the elusive and all things considered excessive noise under load.

Hi GK

are you still getting warranty work approved? I thought you got yours around the same time I got mine and mine is out I tried chasing an extension after the bike had an extended stay last year but it ended up nowhere.
How many km do you have on yours now I've just clicked over 10000

Thanks to all. TonyA straightened it out for me, I was confusing the spacers that go behind the outer basket with the inner basket. My inner basket was wobbling because I had left off the washer that was supposed to go behind the nut securing the inner basket. So the inner was on it's splines but not tightly even though torqued because of the lack of that washer. Duh!!
