Hello,
I'm restoring a Norton Commando Fastback first series and I ask an info for the rear wheel.
Is normal that the BRAKE DRUM DUMMY AXLE have any side (swing) play?

The brake drum/sprocket can appear a bit loose without the wheel hub and main axle attached, if that's what you mean.

I mean the central pin of the brake drum. When there is no wheel it seems to have side play. Sending photos.

I can see the photo. Did you feel this side play while the wheel was assembled, or as it is in the picture? As it sits in the photo, some looseness would not be unusual to my memory, just as Danno pointed out.

I noticed the game without the wheel.

Do you mean there is play between the dummy axle and swingarm with the nut tightened?
I have to check with the tightened nut.
I noticed the game with the brake drum removed and no longer screwed to the back of the frame.
I asked a mechanical friend and he told me that that game is eliminated when the wheel is also mounted and is all screwed.
But I also wanted your advice.

What I think you are saying is there's play between the DRUM and dummy axle with the wheel removed?
The early 'bolt-up' wheel assembly relies on the hub for support as there's no bearing inside the bolt-up drum so yes, there probably will be play between the drum and dummy axle if the wheel is unbolted.
