Hi All,
I am in a bit of a pickle, I currently reside in Canada with my 2013 Yellow commando cafe racer. I will be relocating to the U.S in the late fall, obviously my Nortons will go with me (1974 and 2013).
The 74 will be easy to import as it is over the 25yr mark, the 2013 needs a letter of compliance for the U.S (even though it is compliant for Canada which has tighter regulations normally).
Well I am up shit creek for getting the letter from Norton as they have already informed me they cannot provide that due to the new ownership.
Has anyone else been in this situation? What did you do, did you use a registered importer, and who was it?
Before anyone suggests getting rid of it and re buying one already in the states, that's not an option, I've owned this bike from new, I even saw it in the Donington factory back in 2013 when it was ready to be shipped off to Canada. It is also very rare being the fact it is yellow and spec'd with every option available (except the carbon wheels), so it means a lot to me.
Anyway if anyone has any advice, or a contact that could help me out it would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
