Ignition light issue?

Just put my bike back together after a gearbox and primary rebuild. Turned key on and no ignition light. I kicked it anyway and it went happily enough, so went for a quick spin round the block, whereupon I noticed that the ignition light did start to come on eventually BUT when I was applying the brakes. Then I noticed the brake lights weren't working at all!? What have I got wrong here? Is it obvious/easy, or do I need to get some wiring diagrams etc and go through it all? (Oh I had pulled out the Boyer to get it tested while it was all apart too... but I'm pretty darn sure I hooked it all back up how it was???)

Do you remember disconnecting/reconnecting any other wiring? Brown or [Edit]white/brown wires perhaps?

Just the stator? To be honest my loom is a bloody mess. Has been since I got it and I've been too scared to really do anything about it! I pulled out the warning light assimilator but pretty sure I connected it back up right?

As the fault is with the charge warning light I think the assimilator would be the obvious place to start checking as you had disconnected it (although I'm not sure how a wrongly wired assimilator could affect the brake lights....but...?)

Assimilator connections.

White/brown - terminal WL
Green/yellow - AL
Red - E

As a check, with the ignition on, disconnect the white/brown wire from the assimilator and ground it, the bulb should light up.

Sorted it out... loose wire on the ignition switch. Somehow affected brake lights also? Anyway it is fixed now and my bike is legally on the road for the first time in over a year! Just in time for summer...
