Hm that ph area code is about 3 hr ride from me, would be neat to photo the untouched Lucas loom, which I've seen once before and amazed at the robust neatness of new factory install. How he came up with the price would be interesting as well. Hope he gets what he wants for it and new owner keeps it that way.

I'm thinking setting around for 30 years hasn't done it a lot of good. Everything may be fresh but all the rubber will have to replaced fairly quickly.

Why spend $27,000 for a Norton that you will still have to do all the same stuff that you would to one that you can buy for a few thousand. The instant you do anything to it to prepare it to actually ride (all new rubber parts/tires), it's worth considerably less and if you ride it and put miles on it it's down to the price of any other Commando in good condition.

Yep it stuck in quantum limbo - remaining in unusable untouched state or instantly loose half or more its unique value soon as started. Brake hose may be trash but I bet the rest of seals ok so the main concern would be rust in jug with open valves and likely the brearings crusted in the races. If brake fluid was inside, then likely trashed by bore pitting from steel piston and pucks. Likely rusty mud fused damper tube to stanchions.

Is this maybe one of the "new" still in crate bikes sold a few years ago. I seem to remember it was a dealer who like to hold on to stuff.......forever.

We are the strangest animals! Buy something and keep it in a box, saying that corgi toys are worth ten times more kept that way :!: wish i had the fore-sight 50 years ago...instead i dropped rocks on them and threw them away!...same went for a 250 AJS ,paid a £5 [fiver] when it broke down ..it went the tip, and bought some-thing else.
Is there a huge shed in the USA full of brand new old cars?
