I know a few of you have seen my CR advertised for sale so it will not come as a surprise when I say that 'she' now has a new owner. My 961 has gone over the border into the heart of Scotland where I am sure it will have a great time and be cherished by an enthusiast.

I haven't contributed anything of late but I will continue to browse AccessNorton and if I can offer even the slightest assistance to anyone I will chip in, and if I spot any meets organised within reach I will certainly pop along and say hi.

End of an era - I remember when I met you at the presentation at Donington hall and you were considering the purchase.
Kind of like seeing a child leaving home; there have been a mixture of emotions and experiences but it leaves them improved and prepared for life on the road and you suddenly have so much more time and money on your hands! Keep us posted with any future arrivals. It's kind of like the Freemasons - once joined you are one for life whether you are active or not.

I have a photo here of me in the Donington hall library standing next to Skinner and Garner... the look on my face shows that I was under the spell and so, so eager to get Clem to take my deposit lol

Maybe, just maybe, if I had bought a Sport instead of a CR things would have turned out differently. Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed the 961 I was a broken wreck at the end of every ride. I toyed with the idea of converting mine like FE did but then the factory shut down, covid came along and I had already added a couple of Ducatis to my stable which were proving to be far less harsh on my ageing physique... so the decision to sell became easier as each month passed. It took me a good 12mth to finally find the nerve to sell, wasn't an easy decision I can tell you.

There’s no question that the ‘soft lad’ Sport ‘ape hangers’ transformed the ride quality Mark !

Yep, I’m gonna go ‘soft lad’ in the not to distant future! If the pre ride yoga, mid ride stretches and pain killers to get home wear a bit thin!

I have purchased tickets for the TVS 'classic' 961 raffle on behalf of our Natl. M/cycle Museum, I could end up with a 'sport' after all... but knowing my luck I will get 2nd prize lol
