How many volts?

Drove my 850 for the first time in two years today. Im showing 15.2-15.4 volts
at speed with no lamps on.
Is this too much?
 
What battery are you running? What voltage regulator are you using? What is the voltage with the lamps on? Hi/Low will draw 55-60 watts from the system if it is standard or H4.

Thanks, looks like it is nominal. The battery itself may be aging a bit too. All parts add up to a whole . One slack one changes everything.
 
Running with the headlight ON AT ALL TIMES gives the advantage of: 1) staying alive (reference the Hurt Report) as well as: 2) less current to convert into heat (zener life) or whatever all in one box you use.
 
Agree.
The reason why the volts were up was because the headlamp wasnt on. This was because I had forgotten how I had wired the switches!
Non standard to say the least.
