Holey Cylinders, Batman!

Wish I'd taken a pic but was looking and talking to owner of a much lightened 850 the other night. Every other head fin had been removed. Apparently off a grass track/scrambles(MX) bike to keep the fins from blocking with dirt. I'd thought maybe it was from an alcohol engine to get it running hotter.
