Headlight clip

How in the hell does this little POS headlight clip attach? Is it like this? If so, it sure is tight. I'm afraid I'll break something if I try to force it. It's suppose to use 6 clips and there's only 3 brackets on the headlight assembly.

No, you've got the clip the wrong way up to start with, the central part locates on the outer rim of the light unit and the legs extend back and clip into the headlamp rim .
The brackets on the lamp unit are not location points for the clips.

I had a great time too trying to figure it out.
The center part goes on the reflector part of the headlight. While the 2 ends sneak under the rim.
To get it in place you stick one of the ends under the rim and with some needle nose pliers I persuaded the other end of the clip back under the rim also.
This produces the spring pressure to hold the lens in place.
I used shipping tape to hold the lense in place while I got the first 2 clips to hold it.

kinda after thought but make sure the packing tape is all off the reflector or a stinky situation
is in store for you. :shock:

Yep Marshall,
I just used it to steady the lens up close to the rim so the clips would go into place easier.
Once done all tape is removed.
