Interesting...I am planning to make my own steady similar to the D.T. Setup, as diagram med further up this thread. Had not considered my HiRider tank might interfere. Can you tell/show us what part of the steady is interefing?
 
RGM sell two types of Dave Taylor head steadies... one with a spring device & one without
Why are there two versions?, and apart from the obvious what are the operational differences?
 
The spring device was brought in with the 850 MK3 head steady and is a useful upgrade which can be added to the Dave Taylor, it partially suspends the ISO's making it less likely they get a set when parked for long periods on the centre stand and the spring tension can be tuned to reduce vibration even more than the ISO's on their own provide.

The cut out in the tank fouls the 'torsion' arms on the Dave Taylor version. It looks as though the CNW/Comstock device might fit in.
 
Think he's just referring to a original product instead of a generic/knock-off version.
Yes, but I also prefer the original Araldite rather than the fast setting variants, as I think it does a better job. Not as convenient granted.
