Seats wear out. But I've had really good service with hard seats that are very durable and don't get eaten up by the valves.
STOCK SIZE TUCKER HARD VALVE SEATS
BEWARE TUCKER FRACTIONAL SIZES ARE ACTUALLY .005” BIGGER THAN THE FRACTION
Stock Ex seat is .250” tall, seat recess is 1.5 (use 1.507 OD seat – custom OD with .007” interference). ID is 1.180 to 1.19 (1.185) x .159” wall, 1/32 wide seat mating. Ask Tucker to provide the 1/32” wide seat because the seat is hard to cut.
Stock IN seat is .250” tall, seat OD approx 1.555/1.557” (to 1.560”). ID tapers 1.312” TO 1.4” x .128” wall, 1/32 wide seat mating, with .007” interference.
Freeze seats and heat head when installing with custom installation tools.
I use Neway tools to cut them (carbide inserts).
