I'd like to see pictures of your Norton with your favortie handlebars.
At the moment i'm running clubmans, but i've been thinking about the low uk handlebars from steadfast, but not sure what they look like on a bike yet.
Cheers!

Then you would not be interested in seeing my US style bars which are much more comfortable than the options your mention :)

I took the clubman bars and turned them upside down for the look and they kept the comfort of regular bars. There is a pair of european triumph bars that are somewhat flat and wide that work nice on a Norton too.

Went from the original 'western' bars to a set of euro bars that I cut 2' off each end to narrow:

these weren't bad, but still too upright so I went to clubmans with then next incarnation. Feel more comfortable (a non -finished pic):

Do Clubmans give enough room for stock brake master Cylinder and clutch cable routing? My Vincent flat bar causes the master cylinder to hit the top tube of the fork.

Here is my Commando with the low rise European style bars:

I like these bars and found them very comfortable. I used to have the Ace style bars and liked them for short rides but thought the a real PIA on longer hauls.

Are the low rise Euro style bars available in basic black? There used to be something called black chrome, but I haven't seen it lately.

Not sure on my end. I'm running a TLS front end.

Another thought. A friend had a set of Norman Hyde M-bars. Those were fairly low with a sweep back for comfort.

Hi to All!
is there anyone who may tell me what kind of handlebars are these and where to buy? ThanX!
(please, note the special bend they have which only the earlier models had..)

ps. I am sure I made some mistakes in posting the photos.. I wish perhaps the webmaster will be so kind in helping me..

I think the Euro (home) bars look better than the US (export) bars. However, I got a set of export bars from Walridge, and they were actually somewhere between the home and export, about 1-2" shorter in rise than my original bars.

However, I don't use the export bars, because I don't have rear sets and my age kinda precludes them.

Lorenzo, is that a Fireflake Blue or straight blue. Looks nice in any case.

The euro bars are much better on my soon to be 60 back. Sitting straight up is fine until you hit a bike swallowing pothole. Then dead lower back for 3 weeks or more.

Dave, your bike looks great. Hanging around this forum makes me see my bike in a critical light and it is sure not that good compared to the "eat off of" bikes on here.

hi dave: actually that blue metalflake is not mine. I just grab it on the web because I liked the way the handlebars bend.
Do you think the US export bars you got from Walridge are the same? I'm asking, because I'm looking for that particular bend that only the first models had.. (and you may realise it only looking on one side)
thanks for help!

Russ,
No one is being critical, at least not me, I think I know better than to go there. This S may look a whole lot different when I get it on the road this spring. But I do have the time now to be anal. We'll see.

There are some really nice looking bikes in this thread, maybe because they are blue? Not that I'm opinionated or anything.

switched from western bars to bikemaster daytona bars....very comfortable and they look good to me

Got Flanders Euro bars on the Atlas and Bikemaster Euro bars on the commando - both feel about the same, and I like them - bikemasters are about $25, Flanders over $100.
I decided on the bars after setting the bike on the centerstand and leaning into what I thought would be a comfortable position for my hands and posture, then figured rise and bend from that - the Euro bars were close enough.
Having said that, I was raised riding in England, and although I have ridden both bikes with the US spec bars, I could not make myself like them. I prefer to lean a little forward when riding - and I prefer twisty lanes to straight roads.

These are what I had for many years, before I fell down last fall. My replacements are US bars, from OldBritts, and they're about an inch lower in rise. I'd like to find an exact replacement - DogT yours look closer to my old ones, I'll check out Waldridge.

Not that I like sitting upright, but I intend to add a handlebar mounted windscreen this season, plus my GPS - I need that 5" of rise to fit the clamps.

The Walridge 1046 bars have about 5" of rise. My originals had 6" from bottom center to top outside. I'll bet most of the 1046 are like the Walridge ones which Mike told me were UK made, and only about $40 + 20 shipping. Of course if you like SS, Phil has them for around $90 last time I looked.
