Watch out, if those are Microsoft bars, they will freeze up and crash at any time.

Yeah Yeah very phunny. I have a pathological dislike for sites like photobucket so resisted signing up. had to decide if getting help on the Norton was more important then exposing myself to yet another pox ridden site.

They could be BSA A65 Clubman Ace bars, as they look as if they are attached to the yokes by the normal method, rather than clip-ons which attach to the stantions as I can see the headlight shourds still in position. I suppose most 'ace' bars would do the job.

Possibly Hyde "M" bars? The photo isn't particularly helpful, unfortunately.

Thanks for the replies, I will try and find another photo, do any of you seasoned veterans have an opinion as to clip-ons vs. clubman ace bars?

AYE!!! they'll knacker your back over long distances,.......... but with the Clubman bars you can easily swop back to standard bars as you only have to undo the handlebar clamps,( and the switchgear of course!), but with clip-ons you have to remove the yokes, and headlight shrouds to fit them, also you have to find an alternative method to mount the headlight, which in itself is not too difficult . If I was going forlower bars I'd personally go for Norton straights which were fitted to Dommies,.

Again thank you for the comments. The distances here in Namibia are hard for those of you in the outside world to get a gripe on, this will likely set up a howling but my plan is to trailer the bike to various rallies and then ride rather then climbing on and riding 300, 400 600kms, There are an endless number of rice grinder "race bikes" here and I am simply after a machine that these riders can look at and understand the gene pool of their bikes.

Is 600km very far? What, about 300 miles?

The roads are ok but what is on them and next to them can kill you in a blink. no emergency services to speak of, cell coverage limited. I prefer to take the roads in my Toyota Raider.
