Hey guys,

This morning i installed re-sets on my 73 commando. I had to open up the rear most hole to 3/8 to install the re-sets where the original foot mounts where.

My ground wire is to small to fit over the 3/8 bolt so i moved it to a different spot on the Z mount. Now she wont start, no red warning light. Nothing. the battery is charged. Not good with electrics at all.

any ideas?? quick solutions??

Where the ground was...
Ground Issue.

Where it is now...
Ground Issue.

Sounds like the ground wire isn't going to ground for some reason, I've usually found this wire goes under the Zenner diode mounting stud
Try running an extra ground lead up to the battery, (also check the fuse!)

If you happened to touch the red wire's ring terminal against the Zener post as you were relocating it, then as comnoz said, you will probably have blown the fuse, because the wire to the Zener is hot even with the ignition switched off [Edit, this does not apply to the 850 MkIII models], unless the battery is disconnected or the fuse is removed.
