Grinding noise on right hand casing

After my 750 has been on a run, I can here a grinding noise (metal to metal) on the right hand side.
Could this be a loose cam chain?

It probably is.

You need to open the cover and have a look. Take care not to damage the gasket, or make sure to have a spare ready.

Also, you'll need to remove the ignition system, so be prepared to re-time it. Start by aligning the alternator rotor with the static timing mark and taking pictures of the ignition in place.
