Got a great deal on Dunlops at a local Cycle Gear and had them mount them with new tubes, etc. My front tire is always down five or so pounds in no more than a week or two. I made sure that the core was tight in the stem. Any suggestions; maybe use slime, maybe mount it all over again with a new tube?

The tube is leaking, so further inspection is needed to find the cause, which is going to be either a faulty valve or a faulty or pinched tube?

Does the valve pass the "spit" test?

I'd call Cycle Gear and discuss with them. If it is a faulty tube/pinched tube they should remount or replace at their expense. They are a pretty good company to deal with, at least the one I deal with is. I expect they will take care of it for you.
