This weekend a Vincent Comet is scheduled to run at the Goodwood Revival meeting. Exactly what Comet model I 'm not able to say, it could be an Egli Comet or Patrick Godet's exquisite Grey Flash. I don't know how many replica's of this model were made, but it may well be that they may be counted on the fingers of one hand - and still have fingers spare !
Let's hope its fine weather for all .

I wonder what sort of competition the rules for the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy are designed to create ? If it is supposed to be historic racing, the cut-off date would probably exclude Seeley and Egli frames. However I do not think it is. One of the bikes which John Surtees built was a Seeley 7R AJS - one of those with a G50 motor would be hard to beat.
The trouble is the organisers change the rules to exclude bikes which win too convincingly. The MV3s and 1000cc Vincents are gone.
That might be a good thing.

I don't think the bike races are about the numbers of replicas. All the cars in the car races are supposed to be genuine. The guys who ride in the Barry Sheene must get their eligibility information from somewhere . They would not just arrive and hope to ride.
