Might not get shot . Too many wheels . Ashley Forest Rallysprint was televised live in little ole N.Z. , and eagerly awaited .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44-FQ8Ta ... re=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJbQs1I-SCE see 4:20 .

Second clip was Irwin , the Pig Farmer . Competetive carr in the International Rally .
As it was geared ( 3:54) for 120 to 140 mph , with Leyland (6000) or Rover (7000).

Asked him if it had Bilstiens or Konis , in the front ." Er Na, Escort Sport ". :D
The steel spoke front wheels DO have cracks in from the stud holes . :D
Wollsley 6110 diff , welded solid ( no spiders) & 1800 Austin wheels , widened 2 in inwards . :D
The Hight of sophistication . It would set fastest time on the long fast Rotorua Pumice hill road stages ,(international Rally )
as ' the works ' cars were geared for 105 mph @ redline ( 10.000 odd ) where this'd keep winding up past 120 . :D

Thanx for posting racing on THE Gravel. Those look identical to the slutty stuff I commute on and try to avoid being bored and not crash. Boy howdy I appreciate their trying to control going fast down hill into a sharp turn. I love to watch the lines and trust vectors these rally drivers fling. Its what I have to do on motorcycles to have some fun w/o having brakes to matter. They are using what I term phase 3 handling, that is straight steering to start the turns, then use about any way they can to stay turning w/o spining out or sliding wide into what ever... Yoose OZ-ies sure have some brutish little beastie cars and ute's and about everything else similar that's generally underpowered in comparison.

To get set up for turns you have to start the rear spinning before apexes, then throw sideways enough to get both ends helping to resist the slide while at same time letting rear get out enough its trust ballistic-ally aims into next open or a bit more for the next fling. Get it wrong and you can only wait a short bit, for what happens next. Cyclist that don't trust their rides enough will not break loose and fish tail tasting traction while still straight before entering the leaning parts. Those that do throw it by over power and a straight steer - mostly sideways before entering turns so no more steering required, just hang on till the side slide stops in a hi side already aimed to power straight out of there. The only thing similar to flat trackers is the initial pivot action on bike's CoG, but they have all the space in the world to fly out wide staying in load relieving rear spin with counter steering, not my style, thank you.

Throw up some dust w/o going bust eh.

Carefull there . Thats like saying a Scotsman's English . Newzealand, way out in the Pacific Ocean , and generally a bit damper

Theyve taken most of the more demanding bends out of the highway now and traightened a lot out . :x :?

Thanks for the exotic settings of NZ and music. Maybe if I get off my bony bottom and make something of myself I could afford to check it out too. On anther gear head lit I've a friend Si who lives in Christchurch so hear the goings on with earthquakes and his head work with inline 4 engines. Not a biker alas. Good ride are like good women everyone is the best one at the time.

Good lower north island rides, Napier -Taihape, Stratford-Taumranui(forgoten highway) All of the Wairarapa back roads, google Ngawi bulldozers a good one for the hobot.

Gosh ya know I've Ms Peel brewing and just today I stopped for a deer and got out to scan a power line cut and think I see a path I could make it down the gorge and back up to grade but its raw stubble cut littered so not a path at all. I'm going to try another ride tomorrow with first patch of cords showing on rear but a rescuer to call if punctured. Only need to get away with 3 more hours, 120 miles. Its not exotic spectacular here but sure is interesting on a quaint scale to me. Safe Journeys over there and no big tremblers to enhance the scenery.
