Gold Coast

They tend to kiss the ass of Beemer and Ducati simply because of better response (and payment) to warranty work. I actually overheard a salesman talk an inquiry from California out of the bike. That really pissed me off and I let him know about it. They would prefer a local buyer because the shipping would eat the profit and a long distance purchaser probably wouldn't be getting the deal of a lifetime if they had to pay it. Call them again. I'm sure they would love to sell it.

That's kinda the vibe I got too. I would think at this point though they'd be happy to just unload it and be done with it all together. I guess I expected they'd be jumping at any chance to sell it. I'm about a 6 hour drive north of Long Island, so I could certainly pick it up myself. Oddly enough, shortly after posting this thread, I received a reply from a salesperson there. I don't imagine I'd find a deal better than this one, but is there any reason why I should spend the extra money and buy a newer model year? I was mainly curious if this particular bike was a known headache and that's why it's been in their inventory for so long.

Don't forget, not everyone out there is interested in a retro air-cooled, 2 valve, 80 HP, pushrod twin.
It's a limited market, especially at the normal prices.
I would think that GC is dropping the price to move the bike out in preparation for the new MkII's.
However, you should ask them point blank why they are selling it at reduced price.
If you do decide to buy the bike, make sure that GC agrees to install the breather mod on the bike before you take delivery.

If it has those rims def. grab it. I'm not sure the bike in the photo matches the description. I would double check because 2014 and newer bikes have grey calipers not gold and the description states Sport Factory in the title then Cafe in the description, and the wheels say 36 spoke and 40 spoke not carbon. Good luck.

The reduced price is based on current book value for an older vehicle. Why pay full retail for a 2 year old bike when on can get a 2016? Same with any vehicle. Its only fair. If I were looking for a silver CR Norton, I'd jump on this one. Bet I get some dirty looks when I go back there. LOL The Duc Scrambler at 9k is selling like hot cakes. I agree with BritTwit. Its a hefty price for a niche bike, but folks need to see it it person. IMHO, the build quality still blows the Nine T and the Scrambler away as well as the current Thruxton. You get what you pay for.

This one of the issues I had with these guys. Never was sure of what I would be purchasing. I figured I was going have to pick it myself or hire someone either way.

Yes, there have been bikes that do not fit the factory specs

I am looking at a Sport in Atlanta. But, it has USD forks and radial Brembos on the front. I have talked to Simon about the bike. He said the owner may have got the USD forks as an option. I have sent Simon the VIN for the bike to get more info, but have not heard back as of yet.

The Sport in Atlanta is brand new 2015 model, with 19 miles on it. The guy is asking 20K for it, but Sports go for much less. Although the upgrades on the front end make it more valuable than a factory spec Sport

I paid 18.8 for my 13 Sport. According to Gold Coast, they've gone up 2K since then. Not sure if that's nationwide or just their pricing. Tumbleweeds, I'm only 12 miles away and retired. Although I have a bit on my plate this week, I can shoot over there and take some photos and text or email them to you. Just not in the next few days.

Thanks guys. I hadn't even noticed the differences until you all pointed them out. I guess I've got more questions to ask of the salesperson now.

Britfan...that would be a huge help if you can fit it into your schedule. I'll shoot you a message with my contact info. Thank you!

Tumbleweeds78. I went to Gold Coast and took some photos. The bike has spoked rims, a metal, not carbon fiber chain guard, plastic, not black painted metal brake and clutch fluid reservoirs. I took photos, but never posted any on this site. Last but not least, that bike has been sold as of Jan. 27 to a guy in NJ. Spoke to Ben, one of the owners. Said he'd be willing to offer a deal on the 2015 SF that he has there. Its winter. Good time to buy. Sorry about the CR though. Nice ride. I prefer the SF myself. It has carbon fiber chain guard, upgraded controls for starter and directionals and metal fluid reservoirs with a cf wind screen, regular handlebars instead of clip ons.. Didnt photograph that one. No thanks necessary. We're a family here. Besides, my bike is there getting some work done.
