Just be aware that I in same frustration hobot once bashed a loose bearing that would not stay in even stone cold, right thru and out the rather thin case wall, sorta like a cartoon character silhouette though a wall but mostly circular.
Locktite is known to fail in this application so forgetablethat, JBW or another Cdo or Atlas box or take chance on repair effort s only options I know of. Btw when this happened to me I found after world wide vender pestering that the notch-thick washer feature in the Cdo gear box shell costs ~$250 extra for that unique useless feature vs an Atlas case, so your call if going that route, or pay more to suffer with the stupid thick washer insanity or easier slip in flt Atlas shell. Look in the headlined Tech Post of forum or google search Norton vendors world wide and start down the list and ask em about AMC shell cost and options then get back with us what ya decide and why.
So far as I know there is no cost effective repair alternative that is risky business not to distort cases for more issues.
Jim Comstock uses JBWeld but I don't know details how to prevent spill over to epoxy bearing too. JBW does not adhere well only internal shear strength is its main quality so I think race and bore scoring would be needed and like 400'+ F to soften for removal.

That's a big bearing with a big race and big stress. If this is blown out by spinning then the space between this race and the lay race is even more thin than before.
Machining and sleeving is NOT a viable option here, not enough meat to work with.
No adhesive will put up with that stress for more than a few heat cycles.

Sleeve gear bushings ? Bearing ? Be clear. Good credit card? Good chance to change to roller layshaft bearing whilst yer at it ?
Ms Peel Combat destroyed her first Commando specific shell so she did most her rough riding with a $250 replacement Altas shell I did nothing to fit and use so maybe Peel is also special that way too? Only issue I ran into was delight how much easier to install and remove w/o the thick washer hassle. Call some big vintage vendors to and see what your choices are.
Are you sure Dave? I have an N7073 marked shell with the full length top mount. I recall (would have to look up) the number indicates a 1958 part. I know it's not an Atlas part but are they not the same as Dommies? Also have an N15007 shell with the same chracteristics. It came with Commando, or at least the later K/S return spring fixing, inner and outer covers.
Keep an eye out on ebay or craig's list and for sale area here as I've seen some bargains recently on complete gearboxes by private sellers. A decade ago venders were asking $4-500 for a used intact AMC Cdo shell and half as much for Atlas shells. The only special feature of the Cdo shell is the notch for the thick washer which I'm told was Norton trying to assist us in easy to shift shell once the washer beaten out and easy to shift shell, until having to beat and align dang washer back in, ugh. Almost all the major vendors can tell ya if their used shell selection can easy adapt for minimal money. They ain't making new AMC shells only very expensive TTI versions so eventually a real premium will be required for any remaining Cdo boxes left.
You can get shells here for around $380 US. For $15 more you can get a "strengthened" shell.
