Norton have seen the bike today and say it’s normal to have swarf in the gearbox oil t only 260 miles it’s a joke

If it hasn't got a magnetic (obviously) drain plug...I'd fit one asap to accurately monitor things

What would you expect?
I mean it’s a multi million dollar factory. State of the art.
Gone over with a fine tooth comb.
I've worked on Ferrari's (restoration workz) they are state of the art too...yet they are not dimensionality perfect from one to another either...It may of been a wire brush.😉
Best to catch the metal and not let it circulate

I have not been able to get a peep out of Norton on my last parts order. Not a good sign , but has anyone been able to get a parts order through lately ?

I gave up on TVS a year or so ago.
I know I’ll get in trouble for saying this, but I really don’t care about them or what they’re doing or their future anymore.

And it’s not because of the lack of spares. It’s because of everything. To me, they failed at all attempts. Sorry if I offended anyone, that’s just my personal opinion of them.

I know Stephen is having a panic attack reading this right now and I know I’ll hear from him about it. Oh well.

I was being sarcastic. Kinda. Not really.
No I really meant it.

Really, sound like BS to me, fine wear particles yes, but chunks no. The quality control does not sound good, and from their reply it sounds like it is common problem they know of.

I just can’t believe it so the they say it’s better to leave the dirty oil in the gearbox till it had done 500 miles I am glad I checked it when I did 260 miles was dark brown with swarf they say normal it’s a joke
