I am attempting to get a gas tank dent removed by those no paint-dent remover folks and what is important to them is the thickness of the metal that they are trying to move. My tank is a steel 73 Interstate tank. Would anyone have knowledge as to what the wall thickness might be? I know there can be variations between manufacturers but an approximate figure is what I'm looking for. Thanks, Jim

You might be able to measure it at the seam. Sometimes you can see the layers, if not it's doubled, so half it minus a bit for paint.

20 gage, or about .036" is what I expect. Waaaaaay thicker than the dent whiz boys are used to working with.
