A letter to an agony Aunt.

Dear Abby,

I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me.
The usual signs... phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them."
I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive. Although I can hear a car driving off, as if she has gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi?
I once picked her mobile phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.
Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.
I decided I was going to park my Norton next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my bike, that I noticed that the rocker cover seemed to be weeping a little oil.
Should I tighten down the rocker cover and risk it splaying, or should I just replace the gasket?

I reckon replacement is definitely the way to go......................And then maybe you should tighten down the rocker covers. Either way its only the depth of your problems that will vary????

A little oil weeping out of the rocker cover, this is the early sign that something major is about to happen, I would definitely tear the engine appart and replace ALL the gaskets, and while the engine is appart, replace the pistons, grind the crank... why not even go for an ofset crank, a bigger bore, upsize the valves, new carbs, put in that nice belt drive, a new clutch, then powdercoat the frame, new paint job, a better front brake, new tires. That should cure that pesky leak!

Aw Man! that's bloody terrible, the oil runs down inside the middle of the head and gets every where. Try a new viton or hard neoprene gasket. Tell us how you get on?

Sounds terrible mate! My guess is trade em both in, get a newer younger model thats more reliable and probably a far better ride. The existing ones sound a bit worn and loose! Rgds Foxy
