I would say the left plug is quite rich and the right plug is closer but still rich.

If you are doing highway riding I would drop to a #8 plug and go leaner until most of the edge at the bottom of the threads is gray. Adjust the needle first and lower the left plugs needle more than the right. Jim
 
pilot screws are at 1 1/2 turns open -1/16 turn in on the left plug

are you talking about the idle mixture screws or the needle. I believe both needles are at the center notch

Does anyone put any stock in looking at the color change along the ground electrode as an indicator of timing ?

OK 1.5ish turns out implies float fuel level not the issue. Only people that pay any attention to hook staining are published experts and those that believe em. OK if spark adv. moves thermal stain towards the tip - What
s no thermal stain seen imply?
