I am harvesting some bits from my parts stash and found two different types of front inner isolastic bumpers.

I'm still running the stock type in my 1972 750.

Any difference in performance?
Front isolastic rubbers...

We just had a disscussion on this - no one seems to know if the smaller OD cushions can even be made to engage w/o crashing loads. My opinion with some testing is that there's no functional difference unless the small cushions are so tight and stiff sandwhiching the large cushions they keep the large cushions from mooshing down as nice. You have opportunity to test each kind and let us know if detectable difference for data to base future opinion on. They try beveling away some of the large cushions rims and get back to us. If I had to choose harder or softer cushions I'd pick the softest and then bevel them for a Smooth operator.

Btw I used to worry and waste time working the cushions in, till I tired to remove some from the tube, so now grease up, get a lip in all around then SMACK the living daylights out of it with largest hammer I can swing on a wood protective block, then a few lighter bashes to center em. BING bang boom done.

Its funny. As in peculiar...

On my '74 the smaller OD buffers are on the tube with the clips, and the Big OD bushings are on their own tubes. I have never held a Mk3 isolastic in my hand but I thought it still had gaps between the bushings and buffers. I have never seen on with the bushings on the tube with circlips. Not that I get around that much. My 72 doesn't have circlips at all.
