front ISO end caps? is this correct? have a look and help.

were there more than one type of front ISO mount end caps...you know, they went on the front iso mount, covered the rubbers, then a PTFE washer, then the spacer.....shims went behind the end cap.......at least on the pre mk III.....
in the manual the line drawing is noticably different for my bike ('74 mk II).......the picture shows a huge gap even with shims. Are there different end caps for earlier or later models?

Looks perfectly OK to me. Same part used on all up to Mk3 which is different, not sure how or why it differs. I wouldn't trust line drawings, they aren't always technically accurate.

But which drawing in which version/year manual are you referring to?

Without knowing exactly what you are looking at, it is difficult to understand what you are seeing as a "huge gap"?

But which drawing in which version/year manual are you referring to?

Without knowing exactly what you are looking at, it is difficult to understand what you are seeing as a "huge gap"?

huge gap is shown on the left side of the iso mount.....there are already two .10 shims in too.

this set up is for my '74 850 and the line drawings are from the official Norton parts list

There was only one set of pre-MKIII end caps. Your assembly looks correct, except that you need more shims.
