Front fork leg

Hello and Happy New Year to you all out there.

I have a Mk3
. It has as known the disk brake on the left fork, where the brake caliper is in front of the fork leg. I do not like that ...
I want to have it on the back of the right fork.
Then I thought that I could only switch the right and left fork so they change side. Then I will get the caliper on rear right leg.
Is it possible to do this?
Then I get both disc brakes on the right side.
Is that okay?

Yes, it's possible, as that's what the factory did when they moved the brake from the right side to the left on the MkIII.

Why did the factory move the brake from right to left side.?
Does it matter whether front and rear brake is on the same side?

I did the same on my MK3 looks a lot better IMO.....does not make any difference in the braking at all...always thought it never looked correct on the left side.....not every change on a MK3 was a good one!.....

Does the wheel offset not change when you do this?

Offset shouldn't matter cause you are swapping both sliders and the wheel. One issue could be rotation of the tire.

I also read somewhere about the threaded retainer for the bearing being designed for rotation one way. ie. the forward motion of the wheel should tend to tighten the retainer, not loosen it.

However, the MkIII hub has a circlip in place of the previous disc hub threaded retainer, so it can safely be used either way around.
