Front fender attachment

I’m installing the front fender and the front brake hose bracket on my stock ’74. Of course they share the same 2-stud boss on the inside of the RH fork slider.

My question: Should the hose bracket go on top the fender bridge, or sandwiched under? Mine seems to fit better on top (as shown in the photo). Am I following common practice?

My bracket was between the slider and the bridge. Dont know if it came from the factory that way, but it was like that for at least the last 25 years.

My ‘72 is like your photo, bracket over the fender brace. Just looked at the Interstate on the ‘72 sale brochure and it is this way also.
 
Yes, I found the sales brochure picture. At least now I have equally good justification for going either way!

Jim aside: I'm so HAPPY; today I finally got all the air bubbles out of my brakes!!
