I've got a 1973 750 COMBAT COMMANDO. I'm about to take the front end apart for inspection. Who can suggest internal upgrades? Am I limited to progressive springs or is there more. I want to keep the front end stock looking. I'm still running 19" tires because I like the look.

Use the "Search" on this forum and type in something like front forks, or front end. There are a couple well excepted upgrades far beyond just adding progressive springs.

Lansdown dampers will improver your front end the best, easy to install, will improve the handling and your front end will look standard and you can adjust it for your riding style, you will be very happy with the the way they work as I have been.

Gooday Seamus,

Try running a 10w 30 synthetic engine oil instead of fork oil and standard (non progressive) springs. Change seals and bushes while yr in there.

I find thats about as good as roadholders get without spending a lot.

I think 1972 was the last Combat.

Cheers

The Lansdowne kits are now fitted to 350 bikes world wide, plus 12 full blow Racing manx, tried and tested by quite a few on this forum..LAB was the first to install the MK1 kit, MK2 as a anti top out hydraulic stop.
