Front brake hose clip location

I'm trying to determine where the two front brake hose clips attach. It looks like they should attach to the stanchion above the slider but wouldn't that lock the brake hose in place on the stanchion and prevent the hose from moving when the slider moves up and down.

A brake hose of the correct length will have enough slack between the clips and it's attachment to the brake pipe to absorb
the movement of the slider. The clips are more to "tidy up" the presentation of the brake hose and keep it out of harms way.

Factory photos normally show the clips attached to the upper and lower ends of the headlamp bracket tube.

Thanks. I thought about putting them on the headlight bracket but wasn't sure they would fit. They're a tight fit on the stanchion.
