Have fitted a new type front brake cable with the light switch, can not for the life of my work out how it is supposed to work.

There are the two terminals, but what touches and where to make / break contact ?.

Over to the peanut gallery.

My buddy Wes has that piece of problematic cable/switch. A hot lead feeds into one terminal [don't know which color off hand] and then hooks to a solid brown lead that runs to tail bulb filament. About half the brake effort goes into compressing the switch rubber while left over effort works the shoes.

If that switch is like mine, it's about the most rinky-dink thing on the bike. Mine comes apart with a little playing and I cleaned the brass gizmos inside it and it works, but not to my satisfaction. It's a normally open switch, doesn't matter how you hook it up, there should be 2 terminals coming out of the harness for it near the front. All works in conjunction with the rear switch too. I'm still trying to figure out where I can put a micro-switch that is unobtrusive. That's not much of an answer, but it's not magic.

I've almost and actually crashed d/t the extra effort to get some action and then excessive action when it does kick in - ugh. I've though about this and I'd try to adapt a gun laser pressure switch on the lever, the kind that velcro or tape flat on gun stock so a squeeze lights the laser aimer.
