I suppose they grind down the parts and sprinkle some of the dust on the watch hands?

Yep it's in the what I like to call "the tenuis link museum" where real triumphs are put through the ignominy of being shown to the public trying to draw a link from real triumphs of the past to the Hinckley ones !
