frame and engine numers

Hi I have a 850 electric start mk3 Commando according to the vin plate it was manufactured in May 1975 but the frame number does not begin with F12001 it starts with a round emblem then 850 then then the engine and gearbox number 3325** does anyone have any idea why

Because it's one of the Mk3 series that used the same number for the engine, gearbox, red plate and stamped no on the frame.

Perfectly normal for some Mk3 machines.

Do we know how many ? and who made the frames as its not a Verlicci frame that was made in Italy

The last Mk3 was 336539 although the last official one was 336537. I'm not entirely sure if Reynolds made the last frames or not.
Sorry wrong numbers given-corrected.
