Folks,

I uploaded a video taken from my Seeley Norton Commando during the F750 race at Road America June 10th, 2012.

The camera quit before the end. I didn't win, (one misshift is all it took), but I had a damn good race and my bike pulled like a freight train.

There's some other video taken from Chris Spargo's RD that I'll try to intercut with mine and post that will show a few different perspectives. From Spargo's perspective you can see John Ellis (XS750) and I had quite a dogfight. Good fun.

Dang, Kenny, that bike of yours has some L-O-N-G legs! That carousel lasts forever.

I loved racing on that track, heck I loved racing all the tracks...

Thanks for posting the video. That prudent braking will getcha everytime. Your Norton is strong too. Well done.

All that shaking and powering and leaning, leaves me a bit short of breath and queasy. Feeling the G Glee's thanks.

Kenny do you ever feel the engine drag over powering the rear on let offs?

Another perspective of the same race, taken from Chris Spargo's Ring-A-Ding missile RD

Sometimes hard to tell who is who:
Ellis is classic old school form - 5X on his black leathers
I hang off more - logos on my black leathers
Ivan Messina makes a cameo a couple of times on his BMW - blue and white leathers

Hobot - If I pull the bike down... way down, I can hop the rear as it gets light, but it's counter-productive.

And I can't post any of this without thanking Jim Comstock and Fullauto for doing up the best flowing head a guy could ever ask for.

I think you confused me again. Mainly wondering if Commando engine/gearing combos had similar needs for a slipper clutch like the moderns seem to benefit from so engine drag not so dangerous. I wasn't asking about over throttling tire while leaned. Either way good news if you have to work to induce rear hop.

Interesting the different positions on these similar cycles don't seem to matter that much. In my case I find it best fun when it seems natural to just huddle down-back closer to bike CoG -but I'm always in spikes of fear when I find my knee and butt flung off in a defense reaction. Anywho your racers sit so low seems to take some care not to foul them so curb feelers help : )

Another thing these last 2 video's made me think about, is what are you thinking about when going neck and neck in straights, holding back saving parts, wanting 1000 more rpm, just relaxing for the next turn to work, wishing you'd pee'd before leaving?
