Hi All,
When I go at low speed over up a bump, I get a sharp click, knock, whatever, noise from the top of my forks.
Guessing, it comes from extension.
Any fixes, ideas?
thanks

Either, the fork oil you are using is too thin (recommended oil was SAE20)? ATF is too thin in my opinion, I use 20w fork oil.

Or, the fork damper tube caps and damper rods are worn?

HI, I had the same problem so i rebuilt my forks and still had the same problem(or so i thought) but it was'nt to bad so i lived with it,in the meantime i rebuilt the front iso's problem solved!!!!(they were totally shot).............i can't explain it????..............Ride On............. Andy

The Norton Roadholder forks do indeed top out, much has been written about the design.
They top out by the damper rod valve contacting the top of the damper tube.
There is a mod. ....both on topping out and bottoming out...read something like convenant conversion or somethng like that.
On topping out you turn the flange off an old fork bush, removing about 0.25" off the length and skim it to make it loose on the bore, and locktite in position below the flanged fork bushes. This means the oil holes in the stantions are blocked progessivley. I did it to my Featherbed Triton with short Roadholders and it worked.
