I have for sale one complete rear MKIII disc set up (minus the M/C assembly).

Polished caliper with new pads, SS hardware, pistons and end caps.

Rear Goodridge SS brake line.

New rear brake pipe.

Drilled rotor, blanchard ground, nickel plated.

Setup looks brand new and really good and has not ben sued since redone.

I bought a complete Brembo rear kit so I'm not using the parts I had plated and refurbished.

$325 US plus shipping takes it. I can e-mail pics upon request as I'll snap some tonight.

I wanted to give the people on here first crack before evilbay as I'll ask more over there.

Moderators, if this isn't cool selling something here than feel free to delete this thread.

Sounds like a great price for what you are including.

Picking up on your last comment, maybe this forum could use a "Buy, Sell & Trade" section?

Coco,
Did you get one of CNW's rear Brembo set-ups? How 'bout posting a picture? I heard Matt was developing a rear disc to match his front.

Classifieds are always good. I didn't want to mess with things by posting something for sale here, but figured someone here could use a top notch rear set up.

I figured $300 was a fair price and that pretty much makes me break even on the polishing work, caliper rebuild parts and the drilling and plating of the rotor. If it goes to ebay I'll ask more but figured som eone here could use a nice set up if theirs is old and ratty.

Jerry actually tried that a while ago, unfortunately I don't think anybody used it? Possibly because the majority of our small band of forum members are rather too widely dispersed around the globe for something like that to be particularly effective here?

I don't know how Jerry feels about it, but if members want to occasionally sell, buy or exchange Norton related items on the forum then I personally don't see any problem with that?

I figured I wasn't treading on thin ice by posting but figured if itw asn't cool than it could be deleted.

Thanks L.A.B.

My .02 ...

Coco has been a genuinely devoted lister here - he's both educated us as well as inquired on this list with great integrity - and perhaps others with the same passion should be allowed to do the same. The frustrating posts come not from upstanding members like him, but those who only get on to sell something with no history of input (this list is so well moderated that it rarely - if ever - happens).

How about listing future posts to buy or sell in the Anything Motorcycle Related section? The poster could notify the main list by a mere, "I'm selling a [fill in the blank here], see AMR? Also, there is a coterie of goodly folks who do not want to sell on FleaBay, and may offer justly goods for a fair price to fellow enthusiasts. The good folks here could benefit. Just a thought.

wrench - great idea.

I'll take this opportunity to say that if this forum had sponsors, I'd be one.

I've made it a point not to plug my business or sell anything here so I wouldn't come off as a huckster.

However, my goal is to clean up my project list and set aside everything I have saved up that pertains to them. Once that's done, I'll have a bunch of leftover stuff, some Norton related; I'll offer it here after I've offered it the the B.I.R. & bb.com whom I've promised to do.

Well I guess I have done so in the past. "so I wouldn't come off as a huckster" But I don't make a living at it does that help? I mainly offer kits for common Norton fallibility's nothing much over my cost. Nothing over a 100.00 bucks. So they haven't banded me for spamming yet. An occasional link to an eBay auction should do no harm ether IMO. Trading rare parts for rare parts can be fun when cash has to be used the fun factor decreases. I have rare parts and need rare parts. I sell bikes to build other bikes I thought most of us do this, where is the line crossed? A link to a web site? An article about a service offered? The combination of the two? When you get up over ten bikes owned you need an outlet to folks with a like minds. Can the needs of one ruin the web reading for others?

Well, back to the thread topic at hand:

Ever notice you see plenty of CALIPER related parts, and some discs, but hardly EVER see master cylinders for sale, ESPECIALLY rear calipers?

True. I'm actually going to hold onto my original rear master cyclinder just in case.

Being able to buy used parts without dealing with ebay and keeping things on a local level within the forum members would be a beneficial thing. Even guys like Norbasa with his fork kits. I think those kits would be great to be offered here to the members and I bet some don't even know he sells them. Same goes for Grandpaul. Maybe a sub section of services offered by members?? I'd way rather give you guys some business than to others with no forum presence here.

Oh, I almost forgot...........SOMEBODY BUY MY REAR DISC SET UP!!!

Maybe that's because they usually are frozen and pitted and mostly worthless except for sleeving??

Personally, I have a box of a half-dozen or so (some Mk3 some earlier style). Some are functional and some are probably only good for sleeving. All are fronts, all though if I can figure out a decent mount for a rear Brembo M/C I might have a rear I don't need.

If you need one, Paul, PM me.

Nah, don't need one. I've got 2 spare earlier style front ones, 1 spare Mark III style front master, and have no need of a rear master at the moment.

I only have one Norton Commando and a BSA and I would be interested in items and services that board members make or have for sale. Just my 2 cents. Right now I'm kind of looking for a fork brace for the Norton. I like the look of the cast unit but have heard different things about their availability.

Yellow-Cad,

I too am looking for another fork brace. I have a Hyde brace on my cafe racer. Nice unit. Currently not available, but have been told that Hyde may make another run sometime in the future. Big help.

The RGM brace I saw pictures of looked pretty nice, but I understand that is no longer available either.

The only option at this point is one of the luniversal oop type that anchor to the fender mount studs. I just don't like the appearance of those.

Maybe if we get enough interested parties we can convince Hyde to move up his production schedule.

I have a die maker working on a new fender brace to be made from 3/16 Stainless steel formed to fit the fender inside. A lot of work and investment and I am just getting started. The idea being to keep it looking stock while also making it stronger. Wish me luck.

Greg,
My concern is the space is tight enough with a 4.10 or 100/90 front tire. That's one of the things I like about the cast braces that clamp to the fork seal holders. It doesn't restrict the tire space under the fender. On the other hand, I'm going from a 100/90 to a 90/90 on my cafe racer to quicken the turn in.

Maybe a nice curved piece of stainless plate that fits outside the fender and welds to a set of clamps for the fork seal holders? But it would detract from the stock appearance.

Keep us informed with your progress!

I am aware that 3/8 clearance is needed on a cold tire to allow for tire growth at speed. Just getting started.

Thread hijackers!

Norbsa, 3 posts in this thread means you have to buy the rear disc set up. It's a new rule apparently.
