For all Mikuni owners

After much hair pulling and dead ends it dawned on me to replace the choke plunger...and what a change.
The old one showed only the slightest wear but considering the choke plunger is on the motor side of the slide, it receives maximum suction at idle and just above. This is the third one I replaced this year. The two other people reported a change immediately. Consider doing this maybe every two years.
So, for a measly $15 (approx) you can rejuvenate the Mikuni and solve some low speed and idle problems and plug fouling.

Same with MK2 Amals.

The rubber on the plunger does not have to be damaged, just going hard is often enough to prevent a proper seal.

Should definitely be considered a periodic change item and be up towards the top of anyone’s ’problem Solving list’ for such running issues.

I guess modern fuels have brought this more to the surface than it used to be..
