I searched the topic and found responses of these natures:
1) Folding pegs are more suitable for racing and are used in conjunction with rear sets.
2) The OE non-folding pegs will protect your tin work if you dump in a parking lot.
3) Pictures of adapting various folding passenger pegs.
I like the warning folding pegs provide; when the pegs contacts the road I know that I have a small margin of "safety" left and either use the margin, the brakes or plan my exit or where I'm going to lay it down. I have not yet had to lay a motorcycle down, but did manage to get between the supports of a Rest Area sign in Pennsylvania which has always struck me as ironic.
I have come close to dumping while kick starting a hot motorcycle, but my thoughts were focused on not cooking my left leg; fortunately my angel stepped up and helped me recover before I got past a torn tendon.
The pictures I saw on this forum of adapted passenger pegs, with one exception, looked quite tacky.
I'd like to be able to utilize the existent threaded holes for a folding pegs solution that looks like they grew there.
Any suggestions?
