Pinstripes by the talented and interesting Mr. Chastin Brand. I left the parts with him at the Daytona Beach Turkey Rod Run and picked them up at his shop after a little vacation in Florida.

I would hate to do this for a living because it's twice as much work as it looks like for a pro and 10 times as much for a hobbyist like myself. Luckily the material (polyurethane clear+blue flake) is pretty forgiving. But it doesn't work well in a gravity-feed gun. Luckily I had an old primer gun on hand to do the flake with and used the HVLP gravity feed for the clear only. The Flakes kept settling to the bottom and clogging it's feed. Each coat of flake was wet-sanded with finer paper than the former. After he final coat of clear dries, it will be down to the 4-digit papers and polishing compound. Only then can the vinyl graphics be applied.

Nice job , Bodywork and paint is harder for me than any mechanical or electrical work, heres a early side cover in blue. How were the wheels ?, it seems in the posts they were OK with no real rust damage.

The wheels, esp the rear, had some pitting of the chrome as did the headlight bucket and fork ears. Half the spokes and nipples on one side of the front wheel were rusted. so I replaced them. Apparently there are 3 different spokes on the disc front wheel and they must have come from different lots or suppliers.

Ready for graphics. Wetsanded with 1000, 1500 and 2000-grit waterproof and then shined up with polishing compound.
