Hi guys, first the intro's. I'm Chris and I live in Manchester U.K. Been riding bikes for 45 years and currently in the garage I have 1990 BMW K1,1973 Trident,
two 1961 Bonnevilles(under restoration) 1967 Bsa C15 Sportsman, 1980 Honda Monkey bike, and lastly the latest acquisition bought yesterday a 1957 Norton
Dominator 99 project. This is only my second Norton, the first was also a 1957 99 converted to a Triton with a 6t motor which cost me £20 in 1972.
Now to the part where I need some help. Can anyone post a wiring diagram for a 57 as this bike has no wiring at all and it is my first bike with a dynamo
so not absolutely sure what goes where.Thanks.

So the diagram is the right one except for the two exceptions mentioned in the text at the bottom, the wire going from the horn to the ammeter is brown instead of brown/blue, and the wire going from the control box is black instead of red, so you should be good to go.

I do intend to purchase a wiring harness and now thanks to Beng I know which wires go where,Thanks guys

The horn wiring doesn't generally go through the ammeter ??
It'd melt something ?
A horn has a very large current draw - and doesn't like being restricted.

Earlier dommie wiring diagrams show that the horn merely picks up its power off the terminal on the ammeter - so the power doesn't actually go through the ammeter.
That diagram may require some careful interpretation ......

Very helpful of Ben to supply that diagram, that could be a tough one to find anywhere else.

If you care to pm me with your e mail address I can send you a Dominator with DC output diagram ,Taken out of the motorcycling Electrical Manual by Bernal Osborne, pub. 1965 Temple Press books

Rohan is quite correct regarding the horn.

Beware; do not wire earth to battery until you have found which earth polarity your dynamo is, the diagrams I have seen are +ive earth.
