Got my 850 C out of hibernation. Fired up first kick, first attempt of the year. Amals still setup at their sweet spot from last year. Just out on a test ride and have few gremlins to address (minor weep from one fuel tap brass barb connection and a little oil seep from newly fitted oil pressure switch (Madass140 sourced from Mr Marsh).
Actually would done this yesterday but after most of day re-assembling things, buying insurance, found a no spark condition though electrics working on lights. Surmised it might be a connection of a power lead to wassell EI box, but that would need tank off to test and I'd had enough for the day. Sure enough, this morning found the fault within minutes of tank off. Wasn't sure it was cured as still no power when probing coil terminals though feed in to black box was now good. Well after few minutes ruminating, I recalled most of these EI's cut power after 20 seconds or so of no signal from their stators. Tried a few engine kicks while watching test probe light on coil power terminal, sure enough it suddenly lit up. I was good to go.
