'O Clips' One time use, but they stay put. Mandated for classic racing in UK.

+1.

That’s what I’ve used for a long time. They also look more ‘proper’ I hate to see jubilee clips with 2 inches of unused clip poking out, etc.

I crimp the O clips on with some blunted pinchers, and I bought some good long handled pincers for cutting them off.

Very easy, very secure, better looking.

Actually, I recently discovered single sided O clips (only one crimp point) which are easier to use in tight spaces but, more importantly, ensure a more even, rounder clamping force.

I don't like standard hose clamps (Jubilee Clips). I prefer to use the original clamps Norton used if available and in good shape. Otherwise, I use Fuel Injection Clamps. They look closer to the originals, are easy to get tight, are readily available at auto parts stores, and clamp more or less evenly around the hose.

I got those, the last batch from McMaster.

Why? they are stronger than the hose they clamp. I use a pair of them together because I wished they were wider, so I get more surface area of hose under pressure on it's pipe. They've worked ok for a few decades.

I just expressed my opinion that I wouldn't use those. The plastic will fail at some point. But they may last just fine. The oil lines are on pretty good and even without a clamp they would probably be ok. I don't think there's a lot of pressure in the rubber hoses on the Commando.

The thing that bothers me most about any central oil tank commando is the hose is a straight run at the oil tank and the engine pulses up and down while the oil tank is fixed. If there was a right angle bend, or a pair of them, then the hose would flex to absorb the engine movement, but the hoses don't flex a lot along their length so there's a lot of jerking back and forth on the tank and the hoses. Certainly adding a late model oil filter cures that situation for one of the hoses.
